On April 10, 1912 The RMS Titanic set sail on her maiden voyage with 2,227 Passengers and Crew aboard.
At 11:40 p.m. on the night of April 14, traveling at a speed of 20.5 knots she struck an iceberg on her
Starboard bow. The original thought was that the berg had tore a 350 ft. gash in the great ship. This
has since been proven to be incorrect. At 2:20 a.m. on April 15,1912 the Great Ship sank below the surface
of the Ocean and into Legend.Lost at Sea were 1,522 people including Passengers and Crew. Among
these was my Great, Great, Great Uncle Mr. Henry Mitchell. The 705 people who survived were found afloat
the following morning by the Cunard Liner, Carpathia. The legend of the Titanic has been a great part
of my life. Espicially these past two years as I've researched the tragedy that happened that night.
Who is at fault? We may never know for sure. Was it greed ? Probably. I hope to answer all these
questions and more with this Site.
